If we followed the rule book we would not have planted seeds in March, nor would we have left them in an unheated greenhouse during negative temperatures for a number of consecutive days; but needless to say we have seen a lot of success so far.
Our seeds have not only survived the frost, snow and bitterly cold nights but are thriving in their little pockets so much that it make me question whether the rule book should be more of a guide line. After all, the garden is forever teaching us and we are the students. Not the other way round.
After all, all living things want to survive, we're just giving them a helping hand.
So, our winging it paid off, we only lost 2 courgette babies which we will try again with this weekend. Everything else is fighting hard to stay alive and I am so excited to enjoy the bounties!
